Dear Parents,
Let me begin by thanking you for taking time to read this letter. That simple act shows that you are involved in the life of your child. Since you are an involved parent, we are sure you have many questions regarding the mission trip that your teen has expressed interest in. That is a good thing! You are not alone, each year we have the privilege of taking young people on life changing mission trips, but before the adventure begins or the testimonies are told, or the lives are changed, we are faced with many questions from concerned parents. So know that it is not odd that you have questions, in fact it would be odd if you did not, and we happily welcome them.
It is with this in mind that we have created the information you see here. Over the years we have noted the most frequently asked questions made by parents and have attempted to answer as many of them as possible. However if you find yourself with remaining questions once you’ve read through the information, our staff would count it as an honor to speak directly to you to answer any more questions you may have.
As I write this letter, I can’t help but think back to my first mission experience, remembering the role my parents played being so vital. Whether it was the late nights spent working on my support letters, or the time spent cooking for the upcoming bake sale, my parents were there with me every step of the way. At the time I’m sure they had no idea just how great an impact their sacrifice would make on my life. Before I left on that first trip to Venezuela, my life was headed in one direction, but when I returned it had made a complete 180. I can confidently say to this day, that where I am now is a direct result of that first experience, which would not have been possible without the help and support of my parents. I share this with you to encourage you in the opportunity that is set before you. As you seek the Lord regarding His will for this trip, I can promise you that on the trip your teen will have the opportunity to be challenged, stretched and changed. It is our goal that young people would discover their purpose and have an encounter with the one true God.
Thank you once again for your time, we pray for the will of God to be done in your life and in your family.
